About The Author
I go by Tigris. I've lurked within various alterhuman communities since mid-2015; I began to contribute more openly within the 2020s. I am a therianthrope, otherhearted, and fictionfolk. I run the website Falconiforme, where I host this resource. Hopefully, one day it'll be alongside hand-crafted essays and guides, like it used to be.
I've been interested in the concept of otherkin for many years now. The depths of the mind and reaches of spiritual belief are a fascinating dive, especially when it comes to what a person is. I hope there'll come a time where there is much less ridicule and more intrigue when it comes to eccentricity, because there is so much to learn about the internal lives of others. The Internet has been a catalyst for all sorts of interesting subcultures to make the most of anonymity to confidently present as themselves, making it easier to show off your weirder, more authentic self than ever before. As they say, "on the internet, nobody knows you're a dog".
When I was poking my snout into this little world a decade ago, it was the writings of experienced otherkin that assisted my own understanding of the concepts and fuelled my desire to learn. It was the grilling of those grizzled long-term members of forums that taught me skills in self-reflection, articulation, and research that helps me not only with alterhuman-related pursuits but in my life in general. I hope one day I can fill a similar niche for somebody else.
