Physical Description:

A white and grey-feathered, beaked, dragon with a pair of backwards-facing horns on its brows. Its primary and secondary feathers are a grey-blue. It has a long, thin, tail that ends in a fan of feathers. It is based on a raptorial bird with heavily feathered feet similar to a ptarmigan that it loses in the summer and instead resembles heron feet. Its head crest can raise or lay flat depending on mood - similar to a cockatiel or long-crested eagle.

Backstory:

It is sapient to some degree, but doesn’t speak. It calls (a drawn-out piercing shriek) very rarely and only in territorial disputes or fear. It is a highly territorial, solitary, creature and lives alone in arid foothills but can be sighted hunting steppe ungulates. It's part of a long-living species that rarely mates and outside of breeding only comes into contact with other members through dispersal juveniles looking to claim territory.
